| Good Ol’ Days-Nisswa Trip 38 ULLRs (including 6 new members) made it to Nisswa this year and enjoyed (mostly) beautiful weather and lots of different activities. There were bikers, golfers, readers (Margie said she read an entire book!) paddlers, gamblers (bingo), walkers and strollers, campfire sitters, loon listeners, shoppers, drinkers (ULLR schnapps down the hatch) and loads of eaters. Monday night our happy hour was indoors due to rain but we made it work. Chef Mike prepared a taco bar on Tuesday and as always, it was delicious and plentiful. This year he came in person so we got to say a personal thank you. And the weather cooperated, so it was a picnic. After 4 years, Kathy and Kate are “retiring” from running this trip. As interest has dwindled over the years, the group discussed plans for next year and decided to try a different location to add variety. So, if anyone wants to plan an activity for next spring, step up and talk to a board member. Kate and Kathy will be happy to sit down and share their experiences. It’s a great way to give back while getting to know many wonderful ULLRs at the dame time. |
