The
fastest member of our team, Alyson was captain of our Sunday team for
many years. But the long 120 mile drive from Apple Valley to Wild
Mountain and back finally caught up with her, and she transferred to
our Wednesday team. Next year we’re hoping her oldest son will be
able to join us on the team.

Lee
is the senior member of our team going back to when the team raced on
Thursday night. From the old Thursday night team, Lee is the one
who remembered the ULLR cheer and taught it to us.

John
is team captain and this was a challenging year for all of us
especially him. How do you ski race when there is not enough snow
on the ground to set the race gates? But John rose to the
occasion and with his guidance we had a super good season. We were
asked if we would like to merge with another team but John and the team
said No! We’re the ULLR Raiders of lost Fjord and we’re proud of
our team and our name.
Scott
joined our team the year before the pandemic, and this is only his
third year of racing. Besides ski racing, he also plays hockey in
an adult league. Scott is a key member of our team and we worry
that someday he might forget himself and show up for the race with his
hockey sticks rather than his skis.
Sue
is a member of the 3M ski club. She had hoped to introduce two
other 3M members to ski racing during December so they would be
prepared for the January start with our team. But no snow in
December and they didn’t want to try racing without an introduction to
race gates and practice time with them. Hopefully next year.
