ULLRs, including some returned snowbirds, attended the 72nd Ullr Awards
Banquet, held again at the Chanhassen American Legion.
They always provide us with a nice party room and efficient
service.
Many thanks to
Ellise Lamb and Char Strand who planned and provided a very
entertaining evening Spring Banquet. Thanks to Diane Erlandson
for doing a great job again collecting checks and making all the name
badges and place cards. Thanks to Karen Holmquist who was our
entertaining MC. She did a fantastic presentation, entertaining
us with ski jokes and stories. She also presented the previous
ULLR Board of 2021-2022 and the new ULLR Board of 2022-2023. All
new ULLR Board members were elected by unanimous vote at the April
general meeting. Their terms began May 1, 2022 and end April 30,
2023. Many fun pictures were taken by Nancy Keyes and can be found on
the ULLR photo site.
All enjoyed
a delicious buffet dinner of salad, roll, chicken marsala, roast beef,
roasted red potatoes, and vegetable medley. The meal was followed
by chocolate and white cakes and coffee. The table centerpieces
were potted flower plants which were offered to the person at the table
with the winning number at their seat on the table.
Recipients
of last year's OLE awards recognized ULLRs for their contributions this
past year to the club. The 2022 OLE award winners were Janice
Swanberg for her being President, awarded to her by Sharon Marini and
Margie Deutsch singing "Ain't She Sweet" naming all of her
accomplishments in the words of the song. Jan Butler was honored
with ULLR of the Year award presented to her by Janice Swanberg.
Carol Bush received the 2022 OLE award for Record Keeper. Tom and
Mary Vandehei received the 2022 OLE Award for "Amazing Couple".
Congratulations to all 2022 ULLR awardees.
At
8:00 p.m. the dance floor filled with ULLRS dancing to the music
presented by Jerry Swanberg with his musical CDs. Jerry was a
radio host for many years and played some wonderful dancing music while
ULLRs were dancing up a storm. It was also noted that so many
attendees were enjoying socializing and catching up the news with their
fellow members. A great time was had by all. Thanks to
everyone who attended and contributed greatly to a fun evening.
