Eleven
Ullrs came out on a chilly, very windy day to hike at Richardson Nature
Center. Some of the trail was familiar and part was different
thru the woods. The sun shone thru the trees at times and we had
protection from the wind while in the woods. We walked on the
edge of the cross country ski trail as skiers zoomed by.
The
3 mile hike ended near the pond which we walked on to see the ice
blocks that were cut with a saw. They were cut to show children
how ice blocks were cut "in the old days" and stored in the ice house
to be used to keep the ice box contents cool and prevent food from
spoiling.
After the hike we had lunch at Mallards in Bloomington. Delicious!
