Alyson
is our team captain and worked with a lot of dedication, communicating
with the rest of the team over the summer months and into the race
season. She has been a member of our Sunday team for many years,
but she lives in Lakeville, and the 160 mile round-trip drive to race
every Sunday finally wore her out. She and Lezley colluded
together and she’ll be joining our Wednesday team next year.
Darin
wanted to show that he can hold something besides a cup of beer in his
hand. When joining the team he had not raced since high school,
and it took him a while to get his ski legs back. He enjoys
racing and when he discovered there was a morning league, he signed up
for one of their teams and is now racing twice on Sunday. He has
children racing at Trollhaugen and sometimes at Wild Mountain.
Ryan
came to me three years ago and asked if there would be room for his
brother on the team. It turned out one of the team members
retired, and we’re happy to have brother Darin join us. Besides
racing with his brother, this year his son joined father and uncle for
the last race of the season. A very proud grandmother and
grandfather were at the bottom of the hill watching.

527 Araya Goings
At
times Tom felt like a ping-pong ball; he has children racing in
different leagues and had a tough time keeping up and trying to watch
them at both Trollhaugen and Wild Mountain and was unable to make every
race this year.
Araya
is Allison’s cousin, and joined us this year. Skiing runs in the
Gamble family, and grandpa and grandma brought her son who is learning
to ski along for one of the races.
