Sixteen
lucky Ullrs attended the Mama Mia musical play at Chanhassen Dinner
Theaters on a sunny, but cool and windy day. We did show up
a bit early for lunch at 11 a.m., but necessary as the theater was
completely Sold Out. Thanks to Nancy Keyes’ connections, we had
great seats at a discounted price. I also want to thank Nancy
Keyes for taking the photos. Our ULLR group was one of a number
of organizations who were announced at the beginning of the show.
Mama
Mia has been getting rave reviews and sold out audiences that
Chanhassen Dinner Theater has extended this musical until late Feb.
2020. I don’t believe any of us were disappointed. As
Ray H. told me “the play surpassed his expectations”.
The
cast did an excellent job with great dancing (including acrobatic) and
singing. The story line was very upbeat as well as humorous,
providing many laughs for the audience. A quote from
Artistic Director, Michael Brandisi stated the play Mama Mia is a
celebration of life – life with its enormous beauty and with a little
bit of madness. That was certainly seen and felt by the audience.
