| 7 Ullrs met in front of the Germanic American Institute on Summit Avenue in St. Paul on Saturday, June 8, to remember our friend Manfred with a bike ride. Because John S was recovering from a knee cap injury, the ride was shorter in length and a bit more leisurely than usual. We biked down Summit Avenue to the Mississippi River and stopped to get a view of the river and the downtown Minneapolis skyline in the distance. We then diverted to Jerry and Marilyn B's home near Macalester College. We enjoyed a tour of their home and garden and refreshed ourselves with ice cold water and snacks. From there we rode back to the GAI and met up with several other Ullrs to enjoy good German food, beer and entertainment at Deutsche Tage, their annual German festival. | ||||
