Foggy
Goggles team captain Ryan Long showing perfect form rounding the
gate. He’s using the Ted Ligety style of dragging your uphill
pole on the snow, which prepares you to execute your next turn.

Buck
Hill has as a very advanced timing system which can be good and
bad. Everybody gets to know their time right away, but
every once in a while someone becomes so engrossed looking at their
time, that they forget to stop. This can lead to serious
disaster. Fortunately the ski patrol is located directly behind
the base area. Our Jim Habeck has finished his run, and his time
is posted to the hundredth of a second. Steve Bailey is still
running the course, which is why there’s no decimal included with his
time.

|
This
is the way everybody spent the entire season, totally bundled up
against the cold. If you look over John Kasprick's shoulder you
can see a posted time of 21.14 seconds. This makes him one of top
racers in the league. |

This is Lezley showing off for brand-new ski bag. You hang your boots on the outside and your helmet hangs on top.

Wild
Mountain’s scoring technology is not as advanced as Buck Hill’s.
All the timers and computers are upstairs in this building, and when
you’ve completed your run the scorekeeper will read your time over a
loudspeaker.

Two
of our Foggy Goggles, #563 Elliot Swiss, his daughter and team
co-captain #564 Mandie, and Mandie’s little sister #939 Sammy
who was home from college and guest-raced with us. Sammy is
very good, and Brian tried to talk dad into to flying her home every
weekend so she could fill the one empty spot on our team.

This
year Kim was not the only one with frozen feet; here is Andria running
around barefoot trying to get her feet thawed out after the race.
| | The
rest of the team has no idea why, but Andria is balancing a huge tub of
popcorn on her head with a tiny bit of help from Lezley.
| | A
very proud moment for Mary and the rest of the team. With
help from Kim, she’s showing off the gold medal she won at Wild
Mountain. They are a pair of very photogenic young ladies.

|
| | This
has become a tradition at Wild Mountain; after the last race all the
teams get together for a cookout in the outdoor pavilion. Every
team always brings enough food and beer to feed all the teams. We
were actually inviting people who were just walking by to come in and
help us eat all the food.
