On Sunday October 21, 20 ULLRs attended the Mary Poppins play at Bloomington’s Artistry Theater.
The
play was written in 1934 and depicts the Edwardian era of British
history which covered the reign of King Edward VII, 1901-1910.
The play tells the story of two spoiled kids, Michael & Jane Bank,
wishing for a kinder nanny - then Mary Poppins descends on their
home. She introduces them to a chimney sweep and others,
resulting in their wishes coming true plus much more.
I
think all of us enjoyed this play - the dancing and singing talent of
the actors was superb. Hit tunes heard were spoons–full–of-sugar
and Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
Prior to the play 18 ULLRs enjoyed a pre-concert lunch gathering at Applebee's.
