| Thirteen Ullrs who were biking the Cannon Valley Trail on Sunday, July 15, probably didn’t realize that the U.S. Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke had recently (May 2018) designated the trail as a National Recreation Trail. The trail links the communities of Red Wing, Welch, and Cannon Falls. Because it was quite hot and humid, there were only 4 hardy Ullrs who biked the full 32 miles between Welch and Hay Creek and back. They were Pat N. John E, and Craig and Nancy N. The rest of the energetic group biked the 20-mile round trip between Welch and Red Wing. Lunch was enjoyed at the Bierstude in Red Wing after the ride. As always with Ullrs, a prevailing thought was the Nike “Just Do It”! Judy |
