Before The Storm
I
should have known there was a bad omen coming when on July 2nd, I
discover that the route to the Capitol was under water. A quick
text to Patty and John and a new route was done. The morning of
July 4th was sunny, but hot. The weather person said the day
would be good, but fireworks iffy. At the trailhead at 9:00 a.m.,
Bill B said bad weather was coming, sun was still out, I was
optimistic. It was starting to get dark. A few brave
souls started out.
It was not to
be... a round trip of 1:55 minutes and .4 miles and we were back at our
cars, heading to the pot luck two hours early. No beer and wine
yet, but coffee was served. Mother nature then cooperated, deck
was squeegeed, covers removed from furniture. Damaris F. arranged the food and it was time to enjoy food and great
company. Then mother nature had her last revenge, another
storm. Again, the deck furniture was re-covered and inside we
went. The make-up ride was on Friday and the weather was great.
