The
ULLR Foundation presented a $3600 check to Padraig's Place Adaptive
Winter Sports at Buck Hill for an adaptive extra-large sit ski on
Saturday February 25. Jerry Weiskopf, Joan Roe, Carol Bush, Pam
Anderson and Jan Cady represented Ullr and felt very grateful to Ullr
Club members, who made this possible. A plaque will be placed on
the sit ski in appreciation to the Ullr Foundation, in memory of David
Lyons and Manfred Deutsch.
Padraig's Place,
a local non-profit organization and Buck Hill Ski and Snowboard School
have come together to enrich the lives of special needs children with
physical and cognitive disabilities.
Brian
Foley, founder of Padraig's Place, expressed deep appreciation and
gratitude to the Ullr Club. Jason, one of the instructors,
demonstrated the sit ski by giving Jan Cady (aka Mother Superior) a
thrilling ride down the hill! There are about eighty instructors
and volunteers who are involved with the Buck Hill adaptive skiing on
Monday evenings and Saturday mornings.
