AMERICAN SWEDISH INSTITUTE TOUR
On
November 19th, twenty-nine ULLRs toured the Turnblad Mansion which has
been beautifully decorated for a Scandinavian Christmas.
In
1908 the mansion on Park Avenue was completed. The Swan Turnblad
family moved out in 1929 and the house became the American Swedish
Institute. It has been beautifully maintained and has carved
woodwork throughout that is stunning. One of our tour guides was
Dorothy Jones, a former ULLR, active in the ‘80’s and 90’s !!!
We
enjoyed a good lunch following our tour at Rudolph’s on Lyndale.
With our early snow and cold, it was a great way to start the holiday
season.
