LAKE COMO HIKE
After a questionable start, the hiking day turned out having a very positive outcome.
We
started with a Saturday morning jam session in the Pavilion, followed
by walking 2 miles around Como Lake, admiring the many large older homes and
the many pug dogs out for a stroll. The Conservatory taught us
about spices and the flowers were beautiful and multicolored,
particularly the hydrangeas and the many varieties of lilies.
Our
final destination was the Zoo. Did you know the magnificent
giraffe has only seven vertebrae in his neck, the same as you and
I? The primates also entertained us. We lunched at the Black Bear Restaurant which offered a variety of tasty food.
