ULLRs and one Red Eye guest (Mary R), were anxious to get on the bus
and hit the road for GR. We had our subways and chatted and
before you know it, we arrived at the lodge. We all settled into
our rooms, except for condo 1, who discovered their room had not been
cleaned. So these lucky women got a 3 br suite for one
night!
Saturday started out extremely
cold so some chose to lounge around until the sun warmed the
slopes. Once we got out we really enjoyed the day and most were
prepared for the elements. Several enjoyed the hot tub and others
relaxed to drinks and a band in the chalet. We enjoyed an après
ski before dinner and talked about our fun day on the slopes.
Barb K corralled every one for the group picture and then we enjoyed
dinner with chicken, salad and pasta. After dinner we cleared off
the tables and the teacher in Barb K. was evident because she had each
table marked for the different games and she had a prize bag for
winners to draw from. The game night was a huge success with most
people participating. We played bridge, farkel, spite and malice,
Mexican train and cribbage.
Sunday
was a beautiful day, the weather was perfect and the snow was soft and
fast. At 1 pm we had the longest human slalom; 22 skiers and we
did it twice with one fallout (Jim M). Quite good for our
age! We loaded up the bus and started back homeward and the
weather turned slippery from Willow River to the Honeywell parking
lot. It was a great weekend and most thought they would love to
go again next winter.
Thank you for making it such a fun trip. Patty Fitzgerald and Barb Kolbe
