Minnehaha Falls Hike
Yeah!! Somebody
turned on the waterfalls for us today!
Sunday morning October 28th was a crisp morning for a walk
beneath the Minnehaha
Falls. Though we have had
a drought, it was exciting to see the falls actually have some water flowing
over its steep banks. Ten of us wandered
along the slowly moving river out to the Mighty Mississippi River.
As we
climbed a bit off the path, John Stiefel asked if I really knew where I was
going! Oh “Ye of Little Faith.” It was just a little adventure that led down
to the river. We happened upon some
“campers” just getting up (11:30)
at the River’s Bank. We wound around and
followed the path back emerging at Wabun Park.
We decided to walk to the River’s Edge for a view from above. As we headed back, imagine our surprise
coming upon a flock of turkeys strutting alongside the Veteran’s Hospital. The
boys, Manfred, John and Ken thought they should rouse them out to see if they
would fly! “Boys will be Boys.”
We ended
the morning walk with a delicious meal at Capp’s Grille on Hiawatha. Patty, John and Robin decided to have
breakfast! It looked yummy! Sharon
thought that next time we should have breakfast first and walk later… sounds
like a plan!
