LANESBORO

September 23-25th was a perfect time for 30 ULLRs to enjoy the trails in Lanesboro.  We gathered on Sunday afternoon after golfing, biking or being entertained by an afternoon play, and enjoyed lots of snacks and beverages while catching up with the news of our friends.  It was then on to The Old Village Hall for more food at our group dinner.

Monday we awoke to temps in the 30’s.   But the hardy ULLRs enjoyed their breakfast buffet, put on some extra clothes and off we went.   The trail between Lanesboro and Whalen was temporarily closed so some of us drove east to begin our journey.  The temp climbed and the wind picked up but we managed to clock several miles and most of us stopped in for pie in Whalen.  More snacks and beverages awaited us as we biked back to the Green Gables and then we were off to see “The Philadelphia Story” at the Commonweal Theatre.

Tuesday was a delightful day again.   After our breakfast we all headed for more fun on our way home.   Birthday wishes to Carolyn B. whom always has a smile for everyone.   And kudos to Ray W. for clocking 78 miles on his bike in 2 days, and to Margie D. who had the most fun on the weekend without a drop of alcohol.
