ULLR “Ski for Light” Foundation Golf Tournament and Dinner Fundraiser

Braemar Golf Course - September 1, 2010

September 1 was a huge success!  The weather couldn’t have been more beautiful.  Co-chairs Gus Bjorklund and Carol Schwebach did a fabulous job of organizing the golf tournament for 62 players, and Divine Swine Catering served up a Southwestern Dinner for 80 people.  Music provided by Bobby Schnitzer, local guitarist, completed the evening.  Many volunteers donated their time to organize the event to make it seamless.  Many sponsors also contributed for 18 holes and great prizes were awarded and drawn for throughout the dinner hour. 

Our goal of donating one-half the cost of an Adaptive Golf Car to the Sister Kenny Program for Disabled Golfers was met!  (these cars cost $8,500 each).  Paige Safransky from the Sister Kenny Golf Program thanked us for our efforts, as there are about 80 golfers at Braemar all with disabilities, some returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.  With only eight adaptive cars, they need at least seven more, and we were honored to raise monies toward their efforts.

Thank you to everyone’s contributions for not only this event, but those who donate throughout the year.  The ULLR Foundation is very appreciative of your generosity to make many good things happen for those less fortunate than we.
