| 15 ULLRs participated in a worthy cause, enjoying a beautiful day and beautiful people on the Oak Marsh Golf Course in Woodbury.
Eleanore and Leslie Troxel, Jan Cady, Barb Kolbe, Jan Stalpes, Jeff Fischer, Nancy Harmon, Jim Maiser, Joan Roe, Judy Bergan, Lorri Christenson, Mary Ellen Goriesky, Michelle and Butch Larkin, and Nancy Keyes. On a picture-perfect August 22nd Sunday, our second year to volunteer for Special Olympics Golf games and give back to the community, 15 ULLRs began their day driving golf carts, assisting in individual skills as escorts, and competition for the Special Olympics Fall Golf Tournament in Woodbury. We had a great time with rewards of smiles from the participants and their families, and concluded at noon for lunch at The Machine Shed/Wildwood Lodge just blocks from the golf course. It was Jeff Fischer’s birthday, as well – we honored him with our singing Happy Birthday. :-)
