Boy did we have fun! 15 ULLRs plus Jim and myself filled our house, driveway and front yard. It was fun getting everyone settled in, vehicles parked, and the bon fire started. The conversation was lively and the mosquitoes were hungry, yet we all presevered until way past our bed time.
On Saturday a few rain drops did not stop several ULLRs from biking to Lake Bemidji State Park and eat lunch at the outdoor Swedish Festival. Nor did it stop Joe, Barb and Jim from fishing on Grace Lake, boy did they catch a mess of fish - Northerns, huge Pan fish, and even a few Bass. The remaining ULLRs hiked the Bog Trail at Lake Bermidji State Park where we saw many wild flowers even a few Lady Slippers, but not the Showy Pink Lady Slipper our state flower. We ended the day with a mouth-watering dinner at Sparkling Waters, pictures with Paul and Babe, and ice cream at Coldstone.
Sunday took all of us to Itasca State Park; some biked, some hiked, and a few went home from there. Jim cooked Shrimp and Meatball Kabobs which Karen and Vickie put together earlier in the afternoon. It was a glorious day! Then a few of us FARKELD late into the night. Ask any ULLR they'll tell you all about FARKEL.
WOW - what a weekend. Thanks to all those who came and helped to make it a wonderful time.
