Nine ULLRs met Friday October 3 at the U of M Arboretum for a fall
hike. The weather was perfect with clear blue skies, no wind, and a
temperature in the high 50’s. We walked the 3 Mile Loop and took
many side trips to look at trees, shrubs, and still blooming flowers.
The maples and shrubs were just starting to get their fall colors. At
the visitors center were many colorful, seasonal decorations with lots
of pumpkins, gourds, and many scare crows and other Halloween
characters sitting, standing, and hanging around. After our hike we
all enjoyed a delicious lunch in the new Oswald Visitor’s Center
Cafeteria.
Everyone said the Arboretum was a great place and that we had a great day for a hike .
