Good Times at the Holiday Ball

On a surprisingly warm December 9th evening, 102 Ullrs dined and danced the night away at the annual Holiday Ball.  Our new venue was the cozy and elegant ballroom of the Fort Snelling Officers’ Club.  The new location received many rave reviews for the quality of the food, drink and ambiance. 

The music and songs of the Larry Larsen Changing Times band kept the dance floor jumping with 60’s favorites that were real crowd pleasers.  This great band played until midnight for the several remaining singles that stayed to dance and close up the Club.

Co-chairs Jerry Schuster and Marty Wilkes, with the help of assistants Carol Burgess, Janice Swanberg and Dick Wilkes, distributed prizes of chocolates, wine, Applebee’s gift certificates and decorative seasonal figures to the lucky winners of the drawings.

We welcomed back many Ullrs who are snowbirds and arranged their schedules to come back to Minneapolis for the ball.  It was a jolly start to the holiday season.  Our thanks to Joan Roe, for initially booking both the Officers’ Club, and the Changing Times band.
