ULLR’S WISCONSIN WEEKEND
On Friday, February 10, twenty-three ULLRS finally arrived in Hayward at the correct location (second year in a row the name of the hotel changed). Now it is the Ramada, not the Hayward Inn.
We got together at the bar (2 for 1 drinks), then off to Barb and Jan’s room for a Wine & Cheese Party. Lots of food and laughter as we watched on tow TV’s the Olympic opening ceremony (with all our talents we should have been there).
After a continental breakfast, 16 on snowshoes, and 6 on cross country skis took off for the woods. Weather was “super” and snow was great, even for Dian Parnell and Judy Bergan, who were new on snowshoes.
We all met at Lakewoods for lunch. We had a wonderful buffet for dinner. Norm Johns got “rich” on quarters. Early evening because everyone was exhausted.
Sunday, off to the woods again for some of us, and then a delicious piece of pie at the Norske Nook, to bring a “fun” weekend to a close.
