For the first time, Cable, WI fell short in the snow department.  On the other hand, its probably the only place we could have played as much as we did.  The snowshoers went out on Saturday to our usual wonderful area and found packed-down trails instead of the many feet of power we're used to.  The good news is that several people were new to the area and thought it was great.   The skiers reported that the trails were a bit icy but ski-able.  Most did about 7k, with three going 11k.  In addition, the cocktail parties and dinner were a great success.  On Sunday most people started home, with some stopping on the way to hike.  The rest of us went snowshoeing again.  This time, we found virgin snow on the Lakewoods' Golf Course.  Not the most ideal setting, but a lot more fun than a packed-down trail.  We had four new or newish members:  Maureen Carey, Cathleen Higgins, Margaret Craig and Mina Shah.  We also had several other first-timers to the Hayward trip.  Welcome everyone.  Please come again.  Conditions are usually much, much better.
