Dear Friends:
Next Sunday, June 15th, we begin our summer schedule. As noted in the bulletin there will be Mass at 5:00 P. M. on Saturday and the 10:00 A.M. Mass on Sunday. We have had this summer schedule for the last three years. Although the schedule clearly indicates that people are or will be away for part of the summer, and that vacation is upon us, we must not forget that we still have the obligation to be at Mass each Sunday. Summer vacation is not a vacation from God. Recently, we celebrated the feast of “Corpus Christi” - the Body of Christ. This feast reminds us how important and central the Eucharist is for us as Catholics. I celebrate the Eucharist each day not because it is an obligation, but because I realize that the power and strength that comes from the Eucharist is necessary for my life - spiritually, physically, emotionally, etc. For me, the Eucharist is what makes the day possible. In this spirit, I pray that we enjoy the summer by relaxing, resting and enjoying God’s gift of the outdoors. Yet, please remember to praise and worship God, in the Eucharist, each week.

Yours in Christ,

Rev. Michael A. Carrano
