Text Box: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY OF JUNE PASTORAL COUNCIL MEETING

The Council met on Monday, June 2nd.  The following is a summary of the meeting.
The Council Members reviewed the Mother’s Day Shower, the Lay Leadership Series, The May Concert and the Cluster Prayer Day.  These events were well received.
The Council gave input to the Pastor’s decision to appoint a Centenary Committee for the 100th Anniversary of the Church and Rectory.
The Summer Mass Schedule will begin on the weekend of June 14—15.
The Annual Pastoral Council Retreat will take place on Sunday, March 22nd.
The First Communion was highly praised.
The Council then elected the following to a three year term:  Marianne Bellucci,  Kristin Erikson, Alex Gallardo, and  Mary Macchiarola. Patrick McEntee was elected to a two year term.
Mary Kirby was elected President.


SPECIAL LECTURE

The Roman Catholic Church, throughout the world, is honoring St. Paul starting June 28, 2008  -  June 29, 2009.  In light of this, the Cathedral Basilica of St. James is hosting a special lecture on Sunday, June 22 at 4:00 P.M.  Professor Laurence Welborn (Fordham University) will speak on “St. Paul and Judaism:  Post-Holocaust Perspectives.”  All are invited.
