Text Box: MAINTENANCE UP-DATE

Since the beginning of May there has been much activity in and around our parish buildings. Last fall we had a new roof placed on each sacristy. We waited for the winter season to end so that we could make sure that no water was now coming in. The construction people came in May to rebuild the wall, plaster, paint and redo the shelves where we store items. The cost of this was $2,800. Then the plumbers were here to take care of violations we have in the boiler room. Apparently, New York City has instituted new codes for these rooms and we had to be brought up to standard. The men were here for two full days and we have not yet received the bill. In late May we completed the Felski Garden by placing three coach lanterns there so as to provide light at night and to enhance the aesthetic beauty of the Garden. (In fact, many people have taken advantage of this lovely garden at night and in the daytime.) Also, the concrete pavement in front of the rectory is cracked in various places. This past week the workers were here to replace the concrete and redo the concrete in front of the two trees - so as to make our area safe for pedestrians. The men also power washed the front of the Church and rectory and filled in all the spaces in the steps of the church with new concrete. The cost of this is $3,300. These repairs were not expected but, are necessary. Please consider donating something extra for these projects. I continue to thank God for your generosity.
